Whos Laughing Now

I’m proud to announce a new website devoted the best of all things comedy in Birmingham and beyond. This site is launched today as part of the Birmingham Comedy Festival (in association with Wye Valley Brewery and Evening Mail) which is currently in progress and runs until Sunday.

The brainchild of myself and freelance journalist and editor Simon Harper, Whos Laughing Now provides a regular dose of Interviews, Reviews and Previews as well as Listings courtesy of our friends at the excellent listings site Live Brum and News from our friends at the major UK internet resource Chortle.

Simon is a fine writer with a real passion for comedy and has already posted up some great reviews and I’ll be chipping in with some more informal blog style posts from my perspective as a booking agent with over ten years experience booking the circuit’s finest stand up comics.

The site has been created with the intent of developing the comedy scene in the area and is more or less an open forum – we are very happy for all local promoters to send in previews of their events.

This website has been designed and created by the amazingly talented Ant Ramm on behalf of Open Advantage – the West Midlands open source solutions centre.

We are also on the lookout for other writers or budding journalists who are interested in publishing reviews through the site. Whilst there’s no money on offer, its all good experience and we would expect to be able to get free show tickets for our contributors when they are reviewing a show.
