Classically Chilled Piano
Rich is a composer and performer of relaxing contemporary solo piano with classical influences – elegant, simple, beautiful and very easy to enjoy.
The 2015 Adelaide Fringe saw Rich perform a sold out show in the delightful setting of the State Dining Room in historic Ayers House. The performance featured Rich’s original compositions including new work alongside a suite of highlights taken from his debut album ‘Valentine Court’, classics from Debussy and Satie and a suite of favourites from perhaps the world’s most famous pianist composer, Ludovico Einaudi.
Rich’s enjoyable and engaging solo piano music combines artful classical influences with an easy going contemporary ear recalling Ludovico Einaudi, Debussy and Philip Glass.
With just enough repetition of each delightful motif to draw the listener in, the organic, yet purposeful structures lead to moments of calm reflection, bittersweet joy and uplifting climax.
Previously Rich has performed at the Edinburgh, Melbourne and Adelaide Festival Fringes, the Big Chill Festival (receiving an encore on a stage curated by Ambient legend Mixmaster Morris) and main stage at Europe’s biggest free arts festival, ArtsFest.
In 2012 Rich released ‘Mindfulmess’, a collection of songs referencing Ben Folds and Brian Wilson and featuring lyrics affected by his spiritual journey as a trainee member of the Triratna Buddhist Order.
