Brummie of the Year
You can vote now for your Brummie of the Year.
I received a nomination which was very touching (thanks Bren) but didnt get through to the actual voting round which is perhaps unsurprising given the number of worthy candidates.
Altho I feel I personally owe are great deal to Pete Ashton for his support of my blog here, of Project X Presents and for the artistic community, I think my choice is going to be John Tighe whom I had the good fortune to share a pint with only last night and who is bearing up well under the strain of the threat to his fine pub the Spotted Dog, from just a three complaints from the nearby Abacus Building.
I think John winning the award would be a timely reminder that we need to stand together to preserve the culture of the city in the face of commercial interests and political shenanigans which reminds me – do sign the petition to keep digbeth vibrant if you havent already.
